And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sam Snoozer!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McKenzie looking to land some kicks to the body here.
McKenzie lands a right hook to the body.
Snoozer shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Snoozer takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
McKenzie moves in looking to clinch but Snoozer pushes him off.
McKenzie scores with a crisp jab that stopped Snoozer in his tracks.
McKenzie slips a straight right by Snoozer.
McKenzie uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Snoozer.
Snoozer digs a good body shot into McKenzie's ribs.
Snoozer misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Snoozer misses with a double jab.
Nice takedown defense from McKenzie. No joy for Snoozer on that attempt.
Snoozer works McKenzie's body with a nice hook.
Snoozer misses the shot to the body.

Snoozer displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as McKenzie throws out the jab.

Snoozer is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

McKenzie is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Snoozer.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Snoozer stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. McKenzie swivels though and keeps the full guard.

McKenzie is looking to stand up but Snoozer isn't so interested in that idea.
McKenzie knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Snoozer on the ground.
McKenzie can't keep his opponent in guard - Snoozer advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Snoozer not landing any meaningful shots this time.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Snoozer thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed McKenzie's head.

Snoozer shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with McKenzie but McKenzie pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Snoozer lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

Snoozer manages to get an easy takedown there - catching McKenzie on his heels. He'll look to pass McKenzie's guard now, I'm sure.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Snoozer accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Snoozer drops back, looking for a kneebar! McKenzie looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. McKenzie looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from McKenzie!

Snoozer manages to work his way to half guard, despite McKenzie's best efforts.
McKenzie seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Snoozer regains full guard. Nicely done.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Sam Snoozer showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

McKenzie connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Snoozer's hands.
Snoozer bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of McKenzie's head.
McKenzie keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
McKenzie takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Snoozer takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.


Snoozer is rocked!
Sam Snoozer is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Snoozer slips a jab from McKenzie.
Snoozer is still on wobbly legs! Can McKenzie finish him?
McKenzie is stalking Snoozer. Snoozer circles to his left. Keeps circling left. Bam! Straight right from McKenzie, and it's lights out! Snoozer really payed the price for that rookie mistake.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:39 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Bret McKenzie!
