Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Francisco Massaranduba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chester Gates (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gates is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by 9 Piece. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chester Gates!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Dillan Fox and Yves DeLean.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gates lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Massaranduba backs up against the cage.
Gates lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Horrible takedown by Gates or perhaps it was just good defense by Massaranduba which made him look bad.
Gates misses with a few strikes there.

Gates shoots in and bounces Massaranduba off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Massaranduba avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Massaranduba on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Massaranduba tries to get out of the position.
Gates is looking to stand up but Massaranduba won't let him.

Gates might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Massaranduba kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Massaranduba closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Gates's guard.
Gates is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Gates is on top in guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gates lands a nice looking kick to the body. Massaranduba takes a step back to recover.
Chester Gates is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Massaranduba knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gates on the ground.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

A decent looking body kick lands there for Gates.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Gates ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Gates no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Gates manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Massaranduba manages to get himself to full guard.
Gates has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Massaranduba is proving hard to escape from.
Massaranduba is looking to stand back up but Gates counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Massaranduba.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Chester Gates.
Gates shoots in looking for a takedown. Massaranduba tries to sprawl out of it but Gates keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Massaranduba manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Chester Gates showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The cut man is working on Francisco Massaranduba's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Massaranduba takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Gates bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Gates shoots in but Massaranduba avoids the takedown attempt easily.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Gates stands up and beckons Massaranduba to his feet.
Massaranduba tries to clinch but Gates moves out of range.
Gates stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Gates throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Massaranduba's waist but Massaranduba gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Gates off to one side.
Francisco Massaranduba has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chester Gates.
Gates throws a combination. Massaranduba tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Gates thows a body kick. Massaranduba tries to catch it but that hurt him.

Gates gets a double leg takedown into Massaranduba's guard.
Gates pushes down on Massaranduba's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Massaranduba pushes Gates off and gets back to his feet.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Gates scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Gates goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Gates will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Massaranduba's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Gates connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Massaranduba scrambles back to his feet.

Gates closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Massaranduba's guard.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Gates is looking to work some ground and pound but Massaranduba has wrist control.
Massaranduba is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Gates is controlling him.

Chester Gates comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Gates has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
