Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chris Rickets!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Jonathan Paton and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice cross by Rickets.
Chris Rickets seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pierce misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Rickets throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Rickets listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Pierce takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Rickets stuffs the takedown.
Pierce shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Rickets pinned against the cage. Rickets gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Pierce gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Rickets blocks an elbow strike.
Pierce wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Rickets has him pressed against the cage.

Rickets really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pierce. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Pierce moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Rickets postures up.
Rickets wants to get up but he can't break Pierce's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

The ref stands the fighters back up. John Pierce wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Pierce throws a head kick but Rickets moves out of range.
Pierce is breathing heavily.
Pierce takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

Nice uppercut lands for Rickets. That snapped Pierce's head back.
Pierce shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Rickets as he avoids it easily.
Rickets scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Pierce wants to clinch up but Rickets keeps it at a distance.
Rickets works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Rickets, as that shot connected.
Pierce misses with a takedown attempt - Rickets sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Rickets is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Pierce had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Pierce takes one to the chin there.
Rickets throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.


It looks like John Pierce has been cut.
Rickets lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Rickets shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Pierce eats them both and turns towards Rickets to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Rickets lands with a straight right. Pierce didn't see that one coming.
Rickets lands a head shot.
Rickets throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Rickets scores with a jab. Pierce acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Pierce tries to move into range but Rickets moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Rickets scores with a one two! Pierce had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Rickets scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Pierce moves forwards but Rickets connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Rickets fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Pierce on the side of the head.
Rickets lands with a hook. Pierce tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.


Pierce is rocked!
Rickets lands with a jab that stuns his opponent. Pierce is looking to close the distance but Rickets sees it coming and throws a beautiful knee! Pierce crumbles to the mat and that's all she wrote! Let's hope Pierce is OK because that was naaaaaasty!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Knee). Chris Rickets!
