Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Horatio Bagdatis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Billy Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Billy Thomas is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Horatio Bagdatis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Billy Thomas!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Phil Schofield and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bagdatis darts in and clinches Thomas up against the cage.
Bagdatis missing with knees to the body.

Bagdatis gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Thomas regains guard.
Bagdatis stays in close to Thomas's body and controls the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Thomas looking for a sweep. Not yet Thomas, not yet.
Thomas is trying to control the position but Bagdatis postures up.
Bagdatis is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Horatio Bagdatis wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Bagdatis shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Bagdatis was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Bagdatis content just to control the position here.

Thomas takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Bagdatis takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Thomas is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Bagdatis's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Bagdatis has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Thomas is bucking up trying to escape but Bagdatis cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Thomas keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Bagdatis goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Thomas is on top in guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Bagdatis is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Thomas is controlling him.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Thomas keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Thomas dives in and grabs Bagdatis's left leg, looking for a takedown. Bagdatis pushes down on Thomas's head and hops out.
Horrible takedown by Bagdatis or perhaps it was just good defense by Thomas which made him look bad.
Thomas shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Bagdatis as he avoids it easily.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Bagdatis.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Horatio Bagdatis. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Bagdatis tries to score a power double leg takedown but Thomas sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Bagdatis somewhat.
Thomas lands a front kick.

Horrible takedown by Bagdatis or perhaps it was just good defense by Thomas which made him look bad.
No luck for Thomas with that takedown attempt.

Thomas moves into the clinch successfully.
Thomas wants a takedown.
Thomas tries for a takedown. No joy.

Bagdatis manages to break the clinch.
Horatio Bagdatis is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Thomas thows a leg kick but Bagdatis checks it

and Bagdatis counters with a takedown into side control.
Thomas is working to avoid the ground and pound but Bagdatis connects with a decent elbow.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Bagdatis staying calm.

Bagdatis goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Thomas rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Bagdatis's guard! Nice work there by Thomas!

Bagdatis wriggles free and stands up.
Bagdatis has a takedown stuffed.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Thomas.

Thomas stuffs the takedown.

Bagdatis looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Thomas!
Bagdatis lands a big shot there that rocks Thomas but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Bagdatis pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Bagdatis content just to control the position here.
Bagdatis has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Thomas's face.
Thomas is still in real trouble! Can Bagdatis finish him?

Thomas has left one of his arms exposed and Bagdatis doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Thomas screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:29 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Horatio Bagdatis!
Horatio Bagdatis took to the mic in his post fight interview and said 'I don't know about my dreams... I don't know about my dreaming anymore... All that I know is... I'm falling... Falling... Falling... Might as well fall in'.
