The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

De Ruiz Silva closes the distance and clinches.

Wright is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

De Ruiz Silva wants to control but Wright is keeping him busy.
De Ruiz Silva throws a strike aimed at the side of Wright's head but Wright avoids it well.
Wright tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but De Ruiz Silva wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Wright really doesn't want to stay on the ground with De Ruiz Silva. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
De Ruiz Silva tries to score with some ground and pound. Wright controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Wright is not content to let De Ruiz Silva control the position.
Wright gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

Wright tries to lock up and control but De Ruiz Silva gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Wright is looking to improve his position but De Ruiz Silva isn't that keen on the idea.

De Ruiz Silva goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Wright is on top in guard.
De Ruiz Silva is trying to control the position from the bottom.
