Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kyle Kirkham (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Junior Sagat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kyle Kirkham!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Junior Sagat!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Anni Minnemäki and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sagat just misses with a punch to the body.
Kirkham fails with the takedown.
Sagat ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Sagat shoots in for a double leg but Kirkham sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Sagat avoids the head kick by Kirkham.
Nice sprawl there from Kirkham as Sagat shoots in.

Kirkham shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Sagat napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Sagat is looking for a sweep.

Kirkham is trying to get an arm triangle but Sagat is defending well.
Kirkham sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Sagat is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

That was a close second round but I would say that Kyle Kirkham will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Kirkham ducks under a wild hook from Sagat.
Sagat misses the shot to the body.

Kirkham shoots in and gets a takedown into Sagat's guard.
Sagat controls Kirkham momentarily but Kirkham frees himself.

Sagat has his foot on Kirkham's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kirkham works his way back into a safe position though.
Sagat takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Kirkham stands up and waves to Sagat to follow him.
Kirkham tries to bum rush Sagat with a series of wild strikes but Sagat uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Sagat throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

Kirkham gets a clinch.
Sagat gets underhooks to prevent Kirkham's takedown attempt.
Kirkham is working for takedown but Sagat is calmly controlling the position for now.
Kirkham keeps control of Sagat as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Sagat is trying to drag Kirkham to the mat but Kirkham just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Kirkham breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Sagat shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Sagat was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Kyle Kirkham overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Sagat looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Kirkham tries to hold on but Sagat postures up.

Sagat looking to control but Kirkham is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Kirkham is trying desperately to improve position.
Sagat trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Kirkham tries to improve his position but instead Sagat has taken his back!

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Kyle Kirkham.
I think Kirkham has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
