Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kristaps Mozulis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Scott Power!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Robert Twigg and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mozulis throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Mozulis rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Power counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Power.
Power tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
A bit of stalling here from Mozulis.
Power is looking for a takedown.
Mozulis breaks from the clinch.
Power fails to land the takedown.
Kristaps Mozulis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Scott Power.
Mozulis throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Power sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Power wants to clinch
and Mozulis counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Power misses with a takedown
and Mozulis counters with a stiff right hand.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Mozulis lands a left and a right that send Power crashing to the mat, dazed. Mozulis thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Power closes the distance but Mozulis moves to the side
and Mozulis scores with a counter punch that sends Power to the canvas! Mozulis smells blood - he's punishing Power with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Power has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:16 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kristaps Mozulis!
