The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tank fails with a takedown attempt.

and Tavares counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Tank is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Tavares misses with a head kick.

Tavares drops Tank with a left right combo! Tavares follows him down to the ground into side control.

It looks like War Tank has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Tavares tries to move to mount but Tank blocks the move with his legs.
Tank avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Tavares.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tank is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Tank is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Tavares tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Tavares has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Tank wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Tavares unloads with some shots from mount but Tank bucks and avoids them well.

Tavares looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Tavares has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Tavares can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Tank is looking to escape.

Tavares has hold of Tank's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Tank manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Tavares quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Tavares but it's paid off an Tank is forced to tap! Nice work by Tavares.
