PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Billy Green (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Freddie Figgjo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Figgjo has chosen Edward Grieg as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Figgjo crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Green - the referee stops the clock and Figgjo gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Green. Figgjo manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Figgjo avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Green misses with a body kick.
Green is looking to clinch but Figgjo is avoiding it.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Figgjo.
Green throws a sloppy head kick and Figgjo moves out of range easily.
Green pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Green throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Figgjo looks gassed!
Green tries a head kick but it misses.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Green.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Billy Green seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Green uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Figgjo.
Green misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Figgjo shoots in but no luck this time.
Green wants to clinch up but Figgjo keeps it at a distance.
Figgjo lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Nice uppercut lands for Green. That snapped Figgjo's head back.
Figgjo avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Green throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Green looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Figgjo avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Green throws a shot from downtown. Figgjo moves away and avoids it.
Figgjo misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Green.

Green feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Green is looking to stand up but Figgjo won't let him.
Figgjo tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Green is posturing up here but Figgjo has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Green tries to roll out but it's too tight and Green has to tap! Slick submission there by Figgjo!
