The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A looping hook to the body misses from Souza. Crillo does a little dance to reset his feet.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Crillo throws a strike but Souza rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Crillo wants to stand but Souza is controlling the position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Crillo can do anything to dispel that myth.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Crillo wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Crillo loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Souza scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Crillo land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Crillo stands and salutes the crowd.
