The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Smith shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Smith was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Smith gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

Smith shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Onatop is trying to defend but Smith finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Smith is keen to just control but Onatop is a slippery customer.
Onatop is trying to stand up here but Smith is controlling him well.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Smith is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Onatop to slip a leg under and get back to full guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Onatop is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Smith defends well.
Smith throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Onatop works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Smith tries to stand but Onatop is controlling from the bottom.
Onatop is looking to stand up but Smith isn't so interested in that idea.
Smith trying to control the position from guard on top but Onatop is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Smith is really struggling to control Onatop but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Smith drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Onatop manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Smith has Onatop in his guard.

Onatop got a little sloppy there for a moment and Smith has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Onatop has managed to get both his arms back between Smith's legs - danger averted.

Smith has his feet on Onatop's thighs here. He's pushed Onatop off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Onatop screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
