Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between John Darby (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vic Vantrell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Darby kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Real American. Vic Vantrell has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with John Darby's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, John Darby!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Vic Vantrell!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Daniel Blasius and Radbod Blank.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vantrell is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Darby looks to land a left hand but Vantrell moved out of range nicely.
Vantrell looks for a takedown but Darby sprawls well.
Darby swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Darby throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Vantrell tries a low kick but Darby avoids it.
Darby misses with a double jab.
Vantrell shoots in looking for a takedown. Darby tries to sprawl out of it but Vantrell keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Darby manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Vantrell takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Horrible takedown by Vantrell or perhaps it was just good defense by Darby which made him look bad.
John Darby has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vic Vantrell.
Vantrell tries a low kick but Darby avoids it.
Darby swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Vantrell manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Darby on his heels. He'll look to pass Darby's guard now, I'm sure.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Vantrell working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Darby will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Vantrell drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Darby manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Vantrell has Darby in his guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Darby stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Vantrell keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Darby misses with an uppercut.
Vantrell doesn't manage to clinch there - Darby circles away.
Darby throws a looping overhand right but Vantrell ducks down to avoid it.
Vantrell looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Vantrell fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Darby lands a lovely overhand right.

Darby comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Darby dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Darby misses with a few strikes there.
Darby works over Vantrell's head and body with a nice combination.
Vantrell takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Vantrell shoots for a double leg takedown but Darby sprawls well. He's pushed Vantrell's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Vantrell fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Darby misses with a looping left.
Darby clobbers Vantrell with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Vantrell takes a swing at Darby's ribcage but misses.
Vantrell shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Darby but Darby pushes him off and we're back to square one.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Nice shot lands for Darby.
Darby scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Vantrell doesn't seem bothered though.

Vantrell closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Vantrell lands in his opponent's guard.
Darby is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Darby wants to stand and escape but Vantrell is having none of it.

The ref stands the fighters back up because John Darby just wasn't active enough.

Vantrell shoots in looking for a takedown but Darby manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Vantrell's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Vantrell changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Darby tries to avoid it but Vantrell manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Darby to the ground. Darby escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Darby tries to bum rush Vantrell with a series of wild strikes but Vantrell uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Vantrell shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Darby as he jumps to the side.
Vantrell is looking to clinch but Darby is avoiding it.
Darby fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

Darby lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Vantrell shoots in but Darby avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Vantrell shoots in for a double leg but Darby sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Darby lands a big uppercut and Vantrell crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Vantrell looks OK. Darby waves Vantrell back to his feet!
Vantrell is still on wobbly legs! Can Darby finish him?
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Vantrell seems to have recovered his senses.
Darby scores with a one two! Vantrell had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Darby gets in close and tags Vantrell with a short punch that almost sends Vantrell to the mat! Oh Vantrell is in big trouble! He turns his back on Darby, trying to create some distance but Darby rushes him, striking wildly and Vantrell goes down! The referee tackles Darby into the cage to end the fight! Darby is one violent man!
