The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kane smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Vangaard lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Kane has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Kane and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Kane throws out a loose jab but Vangaard uses good head movement to avoid it.

Kane stuffs the takedown attempt from Vangaard. Vangaard gets slowly back to his feet.
Vangaard shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kane pinned against the cage. Kane gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Kevin Kane has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of David Vangaard.

Vangaard rushes Kane and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Kane looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Vangaard has picked Kane up and slammed him! Kane can't keep hold of the triangle and Vangaard manages to pass to side control!
Vangaard has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Kane is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Vangaard yanks on the arm and Kane is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Vangaard.

David Vangaard decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
