PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Qwerty Asdfgh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Sokoudjou might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Nickelback - Gotta Be Somebody. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sokoudjou fails with the takedown.
Sokoudjou has a takedown stuffed.
Sokoudjou will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sokoudjou shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Asdfgh scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Sokoudjou has a takedown stuffed.
Sokoudjou shoots in looking for a takedown. Asdfgh tries to sprawl out of it but Sokoudjou keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Asdfgh manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Asdfgh tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Sokoudjou manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Asdfgh is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Asdfgh shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Sokoudjou eats them both and turns towards Asdfgh to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Asdfgh is looking to clinch but Sokoudjou is avoiding it.
Asdfgh lands with a nice body punch.
Sokoudjou fails with a takedown attempt.
Sokoudjou is breathing heavily.
Asdfgh scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Sokoudjou doesn't seem bothered though.

Asdfgh drives through and clinches with Sokoudjou against the cage.

Sokoudjou changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Asdfgh fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Asdfgh tries to clinch but Sokoudjou is having none of it.
Asdfgh is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Sokoudjou swats away the attempt to clinch by Asdfgh.
Sokoudjou throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Asdfgh's waist but Asdfgh gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Sokoudjou off to one side.

Asdfgh lands a two punch combo.
Asdfgh tries to clinch up.
Sokoudjou shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Asdfgh defends it nicely.
Asdfgh tries to clinch up but Sokoudjou circles away and keeps his distance.
Sokoudjou takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Asdfgh scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Asdfgh tries to close the distance and clinch up but Sokoudjou swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Sokoudjou shoots in for a double leg but Asdfgh sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Asdfgh lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Sokoudjou backs up against the cage.

Sokoudjou is rocked!

Asdfgh rushes Sokoudjou and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Oh Sokoudjou is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Asdfgh has had enough of the clinch but Sokoudjou keeps him there for the moment.
Asdfgh wants to stall.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Sokoudjou. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Asdfgh wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Asdfgh lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Asdfgh connects with a knee to the head.
Asdfgh working the clinch nicely. Sokoudjou is working for position but Asdfgh cracks him with a big knee to the head! Sokoudjou crumples up against the cage and Asdfgh lands two more shots before the ref can save Sokoudjou! This one is all over!
