Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Chito Hua!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sam Martin!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Summer Carpenter and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hua fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Hua scores with a takedown into Martin's guard.
Hua wants to stand but Martin has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Hua controlling from the top position.
Martin is looking to stand up but Hua isn't so interested in that idea.
Hua postures up.
Hua works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Hua seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Martin should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Hua has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Martin throws a strike from the bottom but Hua passes into side control!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hua connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Martin some visible discomfort.
Hua landing a few strikes.
Hua has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Martin looks gassed!

Hua decides to stand back up.
Martin throws a right and a left that both miss.
Hua fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Hua avoids a punch combination nicely.

Hua forces Martin back against the ropes and clinches.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Hua.
Hua unloads a knee to the mid-section. Martin lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

Hua escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Martin looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Hua throws a nice looking combination but Martin bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hua shoots in for a takedown but Martin shows good takedown defense.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chito Hua. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hua lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Nice takedown defense from Martin. No joy for Hua on that attempt.
Hua is looking to clinch but Martin is avoiding it.
Hua shoots in but Martin avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Martin scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Martin wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hua keeps working.
Hua regains half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Hua is pressing down on Martin's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Hua manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Hua will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Hua prevents Martin from getting the reversal.
Hua sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Martin can do anything to dispel that myth.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hua lands a big shot there that rocks Martin but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Hua controlling from the full mount.
Hua is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Martin can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Hua looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Hua content just to control the position here.

Hua is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!

Hua has Martin up against the ropes in a clinch.
Hua softening up his opponent with strikes, against the ropes.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hua looking to stall.
The referee calls for Hua to work.

Hua has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Martin clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Hua has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Martin's body.
Martin can't escape the position.

Hua sinks in the hooks and is looking for the choke. He's got it! Martin taps out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Chito Hua!
