Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Minor Threat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bwanali Longwe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Steve Smith and Yves DeLean.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Threat moves out of range as Longwe throws a body kick.
Threat thows a body shot but no joy.
Threat tries to clinch but Longwe moves out of range.
Threat misses with a body shot.
Threat shoots in for a double leg but Longwe sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Threat misses with a takedown attempt

and Longwe counters with a takedown into side control.
Threat is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Threat wants to control but Longwe postures up.
Longwe misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

It looks like Longwe might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Longwe looking to control but Threat is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Longwe takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Longwe fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Threat manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Longwe looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Longwe thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Threat's head.
Longwe is taking a breather. Threat says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Threat has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Longwe is working away from the top position though.

Threat is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Longwe pulls his head out easily.

Threat wants to control but Longwe is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Longwe is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Threat!

Longwe connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Longwe get's back to his feet.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Longwe shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Longwe swats away the attempt to clinch by Threat.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Longwe.
Longwe shoots in looking for a takedown. Threat tries to sprawl out of it but Longwe keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Threat manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Longwe shoots in and bounces Threat off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Threat is looking to stand up but Longwe isn't so interested in that idea.

Threat avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Longwe seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Longwe tries to free his leg and advance position but Threat is retaining full guard.

Threat is trying to control Longwe's posture but Longwe avoids it.

Longwe decides to stand back up.

Minor Threat has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bwanali Longwe.

Threat has Longwe pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Longwe manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Longwe looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Threat has picked Longwe up and slammed him! Longwe can't keep hold of the triangle and Threat manages to pass to side control!

Threat wants to lay and pray for a moment but Longwe keeps working.

Bwanali Longwe has got the better of the ground game so far.

Threat takes a little break here. Longwe wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Threat tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

A close second round but Bwanali Longwe will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Threat wants to clinch but Longwe slips to the side

Longwe is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Well, if Longwe is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Longwe shoots in for a takedown but Threat shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Longwe darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Longwe stalling away here and it's allowed Threat to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Longwe wants to stand and escape but instead Threat has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Longwe takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Longwe is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Longwe keeping moving, preventing Threat from controlling successfully.

Threat wants to pass the guard but Longwe is keeping the position.

Longwe had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Threat defends it easily.

Threat stands and steps away. Longwe gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
The fight stays on the outside here - Threat looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Horrible takedown by Threat or perhaps it was just good defense by Longwe which made him look bad.

Longwe closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Threat tries to break free but Longwe pushes him back against the cage.
Longwe is trying to drag Threat to the mat but Threat just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Threat has clasped his hands together around Longwe's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Threat moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Longwe tries to bench press Threat off him but Threat keeps the position.

Minor Threat has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Bwanali Longwe is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Threat creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

I would just about give that final round to Bwanali Longwe.
Well Longwe has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
