PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Killa Barton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Edmond Honda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Barton is coming into this fight with a significant injury, which will no doubt have an effect on his cardio. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Honda is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Barton is surviving well by controlling Honda's body position as best he can.

Barton's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Honda has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Honda has control of Barton's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Barton regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Honda is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Barton can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The fighters circling - Barton throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Barton fails in his attempt to clinch.
Barton fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Honda manages to avoid it.

Barton takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Barton takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Barton is pushing Honda's head away, looking to escape. Honda manages to hold on to the position though.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Honda is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Barton can't stay in a position like this for much longer.


Killa Barton's cut is getting worse.

Honda has hold of Barton's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Barton manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Killa Barton's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Killa Barton's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
