PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Stand King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wolf Strike (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Stand King has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Stand King seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Stand King!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Wolf Strike!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Paul Tew and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
King closes this distance looking for a takedown but Strike circles away.

King scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Strike parries the strikes from King easily there. King is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Strike to escape.
Strike tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Strike keeps King under control for a moment.
King looks up at the clock and then as Strike takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, King smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Strike wants to control but King postures up.
Strike tries to improve position but can't.
King cracks Strike with a big right hand but Strike just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

King misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Strike is trying to improve his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Strike takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

King decides to stand back up.

King closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Strike's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

King throws a big elbow that misses.
Strike preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

King shoots for a double leg takedown but Strike sprawls well. He's pushed King's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

King shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Strike's guard.

Strike has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but King can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

King changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Strike tries to avoid it but King manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Strike to the ground. Strike escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Stand King. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Strike.
King shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Strike sprawls well. Strike wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. King gets slowly back to his feet.

King gets to his feet. Strike looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Strike escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Strike's corner calls for a 1-2. Strike obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
King will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Wolf Strike showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
