Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Beginner Winner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sung Yong Kim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sung Yong Kim will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Beginner Winner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sung Yong Kim!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yukihiro Shimada and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Crunch! Kim slams his shin into Winner's torso.
Kim tries to bum rush Winner with a series of wild strikes but Winner uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Kim misses with a straight left.
Winner has a takedown stuffed.
Kim attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.

Winner changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Kim looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Winner is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Kim has escaped the position, nice work there.
Kim tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Winner wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Kim manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Winner is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Kim's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Kim's back!

Winner is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Kim is defending well though. Winner let's go of the attempt for now.

Winner is looking for the choke from the back position but Kim is controlling his hands well.

Winner is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Kim has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Winner is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Winner is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Kim knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Kim for a finish.
You can see the frustration on Kim's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Winner has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Kim has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Winner really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Kim manages to reverse the position and now he's in Winner's guard. Nice work there by Kim.
Winner pulls Kim in close to prevent any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kim stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Winner swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kim drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Kim jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Winner is adopting a defensive guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Winner is on top in guard.
Winner is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Winner stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kim swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Winner wants to control from the top but Kim keeps moving.

Kim has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Winner can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Winner is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Winner perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Winner wants to control the pace but Kim is squirming around nicely.

Winner has control of Kim's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Kim regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Winner wants to take Kim's back here but Kim is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

A nice inside leg kick there by Kim. That's going to slow Winner down.
Kim keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Kim loads up on a big right hand but Winner slips the punch.
Beginner Winner is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Kim walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Winner checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Winner dives in and scores a takedown into Kim's guard.

Winner is trying to work for a kimura but Kim is defending well.
Winner uses his free foot to push down on Kim's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Kim.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Winner has the hooks in. Kim is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

Winner wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Winner will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Kim is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Beginner Winner wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Winner shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Kim defends it nicely.
Kim shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Winner checks a low kick from Kim.
Winner is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Kim can do to turn this around?
Kim throws a solid leg kick but Winner takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Kim.
Kim fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Winner checks it well.

Kim is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Kim motions for Winner to come forward. Kim throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Kim tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Winner paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Winner shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Winner showed some decent athleticism there.

Winner is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Kim defends it well.
Kim tries to roll over but Winner keeps him under control.

Winner wants to control but Kim is keeping him busy.

Kim is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Winner's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Winner is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Kim to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Kim shrugs it off.
Kim is desperately trying to improve his position but Winner has a good base and remains in mount.

Sung Yong Kim has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Winner is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Kim is surviving well by controlling Winner's body position as best he can.
Kim is wriggling around here but as he tries to escape, Winner has taken his back.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Kim tries to escape but Winner has the hooks in and won't let him break free.

Winner bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Kim's guard.

Winner is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Kim's shoulder. That is not cool.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Winner, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
