PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Aleksandar Aleksic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Aleksic comes to the cage accompanied by Barabe na adi rmx. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Aleksic as Johnson shoots in.

Aleksic rushes Johnson and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Aleksic has Johnson pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Aleksic pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Johnson tumbling to the mat - Aleksic dives into Johnson's guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Johnson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Aleksic tries to avoid it but Johnson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Aleksic to the ground. Aleksic escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Johnson.

Aleksic has hold of one of Johnson's legs. Johnson is fighting the takedown attempt but Aleksic gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Aleksic seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Johnson for as long as he can get away with.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Johnson tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Aleksic manages to move to mount!
Aleksandar Aleksic is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Aleksic takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
