Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rex King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Codeywade Fabinal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rex King!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Codeywade Fabinal!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Chris Downing and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fabinal throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Fabinal goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Fabinal rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but King moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Fabinal misses with the combination.

Fabinal gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
King engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

King stands up and waves to Fabinal to follow him.
Fabinal throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

King scores with a takedown into Fabinal's guard.
Fabinal looks gassed!
King is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

That's one minute gone in the round.

King gets to his feet - Fabinal follows without any prompting.
Fabinal misses with a double jab.
Fabinal fails to land with a series of punches.

King closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
King moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.

King stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Fabinal fails to land with a series of punches.
Fabinal throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

King fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Fabinal sprawls well initially but King persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
King lands with a punch from half guard.
King is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
King scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
King is taking a breather. Fabinal says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

King has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Rex King has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Fabinal fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

King gets a double leg takedown into Fabinal's guard.
King tries to free his leg and advance position but Fabinal is retaining full guard.

Fabinal is looking to stand up but King isn't so interested in that idea.
King controls from within his opponent's guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Fabinal can't keep his opponent in guard - King advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
King lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!



Fabinal gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Fabinal is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
King advances position into side control!
King controlling the position from side mount.
King's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Fabinal tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
Fabinal is breathing heavily.

King sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
King seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Fabinal for as long as he can get away with.
King is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Fabinal is in real trouble.
King has good solid back control here.

King is landing with strikes from the back.
King biding his time, looking for the opening.

Fabinal defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of King's arms.
Fabinal is trying to stand back up.

King scores with some strikes to the side of the head there. Good, points scoring shots.
Fabinal covers up after taking a massive shot to the side of the head.

King is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Fabinal defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Good control from King.
King is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Fabinal can do to turn this around?

Fabinal controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position.
King keeps control of the position easily here as Fabinal tries to buck him off.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Rex King dominated that second round.
That's time! King's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


King throws the kick towards the body but Fabinal avoids it.
Fabinal misses with a few strikes there.

King takes the fight into the clinch.

King gets a trip takedown into half guard.

King wants to work for an arm triangle but Fabinal is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
King takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
King prevents Fabinal from standing back up.
King seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

King is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Fabinal is just riding it out for now. King eventually gives up the hold.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Fabinal wants to get back to his feet.
King trying to control the pace.
King slips a nice elbow through Fabinal's hands, connecting with Fabinal's forehead.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
King slows the pace down in half guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Rex King.

Fabinal tries to keep at a distance but King has taken the fight into the clinch.
King tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
A bit of stalling here from King.

King decides to pull guard.
Rex King overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

King looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
King looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

Fabinal is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! King is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! King has escaped and now he's on top!

King is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Fabinal really wants to buck King off and get back to his feet.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

King has hold of Fabinal's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Fabinal manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

And that's the end of the fight!
Rex King showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for King, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
