PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Yamato Damashii (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Henry Six (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Damashii comes to the cage accompanied by Ciemna Strefa. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Damashii smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Damashii fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Damashii closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Six to the mat! Six manages to get full guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Six looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Six is on top in guard.
Six slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

We're going to have a standup here because Yamato Damashii wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Six cracks a nice hook into Damashii's ribs.
Six lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

Damashii gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Six tries to pull guard but Damashii won't allow it.

Damashii breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Damashii uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Six.
Damashii moves away from the strike by Six.
Six jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Six slaps away a takedown attempt from Damashii, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Six has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Damashii finds it's way round the side to connect with Six's head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Damashii tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Six swivels and escapes.

Damashii tries for a takedown but Six sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Six scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close round but I would say that Yamato Damashii will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Damashii shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Six trying to control the position from guard on top but Damashii is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Six missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Six wants to control from the top but Damashii keeps moving.
Damashii is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Damashii seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Six does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Damashii is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Six is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Damashii looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Six with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Damashii wants to advance to full mount but Six doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.

Six bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Six connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Damashii momentarily.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Damashii changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Six looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Damashii wants to lay and pray for a moment but Six keeps working.
Six sneaks back into half guard.
Six is staying active underneath Damashii, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
