Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between SergiO Ortiz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Noel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ortiz comes to the cage accompanied by 2 hot 2 handle - Algerino. Noel has chosen Rob S. - Forever Yong as his entrance music. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

With a record of 18 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ryan Noel!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Luis Engracia and Thiago Cunha.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ortiz lands with a kick to the ribs.
Noel on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Noel moves away from the strike by Ortiz.
Noel keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Ortiz's corner calls for a 1-2. Ortiz obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Ortiz pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Noel throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Noel connects with a looping right hand.
SergiO Ortiz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Noel throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ortiz's waist but Ortiz gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Noel off to one side.
Noel swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Ortiz makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Noel.

Ortiz gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Noel to score an easy takedown into full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Noel stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ortiz swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Noel is pushing down on Ortiz's leg trying to pass to half guard. Ortiz is fighting to maintain full guard but Noel has managed to sneak the leg through.

Noel seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Ortiz does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Noel sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Ortiz's guard.
Ortiz moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Ortiz is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Noel keeps control of the position for the meantime.
Noel wants to get back to full guard.
Ortiz tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Noel.
Noel is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Ortiz's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Ortiz's back!
Noel is not going to allow Ortiz to sit and survive in this position.

Noel has his foot on Ortiz's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Ortiz works his way back into a safe position though.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Ortiz is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Noel wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ortiz keeps working.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Ryan Noel will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Noel wants to get back to striking at distance but Ortiz won't allow it.

Noel has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Ortiz avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Ortiz pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Noel misses with a wild combination.
Ortiz connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Noel's hands.
Ortiz tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Noel was well out of range. Poor timing from Ortiz.
Noel throws a low kick but it's checked well by Ortiz.

Noel takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Noel ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

and Ortiz counters with a nice uppercut.
Ortiz cracks Noel with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

SergiO Ortiz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ryan Noel.

Ortiz is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Noel has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Noel there as he acknowledges the shot.
Noel throws a hook but Ortiz blocks it.
Ortiz shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Ortiz cracks Noel with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Noel avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Ortiz loads up on a big right hand but Noel slips the punch.
A looping hook to the body misses from Noel. Ortiz does a little dance to reset his feet.

Noel gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Ortiz gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!

After the fight, SergiO Ortiz was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
