Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rick Martele (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Demian Mondello (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Martele comes to the cage accompanied by If Looks Could Kill By Dying Fetus. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Demian Mondello!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martele looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Martele shoots for a takedown but Mondello saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Martele could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Mondello throws a left and a right that both miss

so Martele counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Mondello wants to stand but Martele is controlling the position.

Martele drops back looking for a leg! Mondello is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Mondello manages to kick Martele off! Martele jumps back into Mondello's guard.

Martele has gone for a leg lock! Mondello slips out almost immediately though and dives into Martele's guard.
Mondello wanted to stand there but Martele had control of the position.

Martele working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mondello doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mondello manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Martele has his foot on Mondello's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Mondello works his way back into a safe position though.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Demian Mondello wasn't active enough on the ground.

Martele is looking to control Mondello's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Martele avoid being mounted?

Mondello maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Martele could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Mondello has cracked it and Martele is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Mondello!

After the fight, Demian Mondello was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
