Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rolando Souto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Souto comes to the cage accompanied by Jorge Quintero - 300 violin orchestra. Williams has chosen A Kind of Magic as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rolando Souto!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mike Williams!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williams throws a body punch but Souto moves out of range.
Williams looks to land a right hand but Souto moved out of range.
Williams tries to move into range but Souto moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Williams keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Williams cracks a nice hook into Souto's ribs.
Mike Williams seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Williams swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Williams tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Souto was well out of range. Poor timing from Williams.

Souto shoots in for a double leg but Williams sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

so Souto counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Souto escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Williams gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Souto has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Williams can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Souto is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Williams defends well.

Williams got a little sloppy there for a moment and Souto has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Williams has managed to get both his arms back between Souto's legs - danger averted.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Souto looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Williams passes into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Williams throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Williams lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

Souto takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Williams has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Williams connects with a nice looking jab.

Williams fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Souto on the side of the head.
Williams is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Souto rather than just go for the knockout.

and Williams counters with a left and a right that stings Souto.
Williams comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Souto shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Williams but Williams pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Williams connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Souto takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Williams catches Souto with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Williams moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Souto has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Williams finds it's way round the side to connect with Souto's head.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Williams looks to score with a jab to the body but Souto is just out of range.
Williams scores with a one two! Souto had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Williams throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Souto stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Souto pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Souto shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Williams is trying to control but can't.
Williams is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Souto misses with a head shot. Williams uses the momentum to regain guard.
Souto is looking to advance position but Williams has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Souto is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Souto is working hard here to advance position.
Williams trying to control but Souto is having none of it.
Souto wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.

So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.

Souto manages to reverse the position and now he's in Williams's guard. Nice work there by Souto.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
