The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shady throws a right and a left that both miss.
Shady ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Paterson moves away.

Paterson closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Paterson is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Shady is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Shady flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Paterson anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Shady and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Paterson slips an arm under Shady chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Paterson has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Paterson is squeezing on Shady like an anaconda would it's prey. Shady fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
