Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lowe Madlangtuta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chuck Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Chuck Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Ryoma Takatsuka and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson is trying hard to land a takedown here. Madlangtuta sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Jackson.
Jackson misses with a takedown
and Madlangtuta counters with a good low kick that Jackson was not able to check.
Lowe Madlangtuta has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chuck Jackson.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Jackson seems keen to control Madlangtuta's posture.

and Jackson moves into the clinch.

Madlangtuta has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Jackson uses from the top position.

Nice takedown defense from Madlangtuta. No joy for Jackson on that attempt.

Madlangtuta is breathing heavily.
Jackson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Madlangtuta tries to sprawl but Jackson drives through with a takedown into half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Madlangtuta is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Jackson pulls his head out easily.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Jackson takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

and Jackson counters with a three punch combo that has Madlangtuta backing up. Madlangtuta nods at Jackson to acknowledge the strikes.

Madlangtuta shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Jackson sprawls well. Jackson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Madlangtuta gets slowly back to his feet.
Jackson shoots in for a double leg but Madlangtuta sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Madlangtuta fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Jackson avoids it really well and circles away.
Jackson throws a head kick that misses.

Jackson gets a clinch.
Jackson is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Madlangtuta is keeping busy.

Madlangtuta's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Chuck Jackson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jackson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Madlangtuta's waist but Madlangtuta gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jackson off to one side.

Jackson jumps guard but Madlangtuta stands there with Jackson around his waist. Jackson gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Madlangtuta is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Jackson pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Jackson is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Madlangtuta to keep the fight standing.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Madlangtuta just misses with a elbow thrown towards Jackson's brow.

Jackson manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Madlangtuta is trying to pull guard but Jackson turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Jackson got a little sloppy there for a moment and Madlangtuta has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Jackson has managed to get both his arms back between Madlangtuta's legs - danger averted.

Jackson gets to his feet. Madlangtuta looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Jackson shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Jackson was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Jackson jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Madlangtuta manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Chuck Jackson has got the better of the ground game so far.

Chuck Jackson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Jackson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Madlangtuta is fending him off so far but Jackson persists. Nope, Madlangtuta circles away and we're back to standing.
Madlangtuta throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Madlangtuta gets caught napping as Jackson dives in and scores a takedown. Madlangtuta manages to retain guard.

Madlangtuta throws his legs up looking for a submission but Jackson uses it to pass to side control.
Jackson is putting a hurting on Madlangtuta here, landing some big shots from side control.
Jackson is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Madlangtuta will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Madlangtuta is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Jackson has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Jackson thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Madlangtuta is trying to get back to his feet but can't.

Jackson looking to isolate an arm here. Madlangtuta doesn't see it coming and as Jackson extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Jackson!
