Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Muscle Freak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Koopa Troopa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Troopa has chosen Koopa Troopa as his entrance music. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Koopa Troopa!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Freak tries to close the distance and clinch but Troopa swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
A head kick misses from Freak.
Troopa throws a looping overhand right but Freak ducks down to avoid it.
Freak moves away from the strike by Troopa.
Troopa misses with a looping right.
Troopa throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Freak moves away from the strike by Troopa.
Koopa Troopa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Troopa throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Freak keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Freak tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Troopa paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Freak lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Freak bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Freak uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Troopa.

Troopa shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Freak manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Freak is pulling down on Troopa's head to control his posture.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

and Freak holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Troopa is trying to maintain a safe position but Freak gets an underhook and turns Troopa into the cage.

Troopa shoots in and gets a takedown into Freak's guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Troopa postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Freak is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Troopa, into his guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Troopa is on top in guard.

Troopa is looking to work some ground and pound but Freak has wrist control.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Troopa seems to be looking for submissions.
Troopa wants to control but Freak is keeping him busy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Troopa prevents Freak from improving his position.
Troopa thows a huge punch but Freak dodges it nicely.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Troopa is trying to control the action in half guard but Freak is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Freak tries a head kick but it misses.
Freak is looking to clinch but Troopa is avoiding it.
Troopa throws an overhand right that lands on Freak's shoulder, as Freak tries to avoid the shot.

Muscle Freak is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Freak moves into range and clinches up with Troopa.
Troopa misses with an elbow over the top.
Freak avoiding damage as Troopa throws knees to the body.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Freak as Troopa tries to tie him up.

Freak's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Troopa on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.

Freak bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Freak clinches up with Troopa and pushes him back against the cage.

Troopa drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Freak gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Muscle Freak has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Koopa Troopa.
Troopa goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Freak lands a left hand.

Freak breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Freak plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!

It looks like Koopa Troopa has been cut.
Horrible takedown by Troopa or perhaps it was just good defense by Freak which made him look bad.
Freak throws a head kick that Troopa semi-blocks.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Freak tries to clinch up but Troopa circles away and keeps his distance.

A looping hook to the body misses from Troopa. Freak does a little dance to reset his feet.

Freak has Troopa up against the cage in a clinch.
Troopa tries to throw a body punch but Freak avoids it by throwing Troopa back against the cage.
Troopa is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Freak is keeping busy.
A nice left hand lands by Freak.

Freak escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Troopa might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Troopa shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Freak sprawls well. Freak wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Troopa gets slowly back to his feet.

This has been an exciting period of action!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Freak enables Troopa to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Freak manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Troopa is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Troopa is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Freak doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Troopa.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Troopa wants to free his trapped foot but Freak is holding on for dear life with his legs.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Troopa seems to be working for a kimura but Freak defends the submission attempt.

Troopa is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Freak is just riding it out for now. Troopa eventually gives up the hold.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Freak has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Troopa is working away from the top position though.

And that's the end of the fight!
Koopa Troopa comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Troopa has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
