Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bernard Shamrock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bruno Smeg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shamrock comes to the cage accompanied by Sepultura - Roots Bloody Roots. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smeg takes one to the chin there.

and Shamrock counters with a lovely shot to the body.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Smeg drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Shamrock dives on top into guard.
Shamrock is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Smeg had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Shamrock defends it easily.

Shamrock looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Smeg with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Smeg has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Shamrock is working away from the top position though.

Shamrock is taking a breather. Smeg says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Smeg tries to roll over but Shamrock keeps him under control.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Shamrock connects with a nice short shot to Smeg's temple.

Shamrock looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Smeg slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Smeg escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Shamrock gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Shamrock got a little sloppy there for a moment and Smeg has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Shamrock has managed to get both his arms back between Smeg's legs - danger averted.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Shamrock dips a shoulder and cracks Smeg with a mighty uppercut! Smeg falls back against the cage and Shamrock unloads with a barrage of strikes! Smeg is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Shamrock screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!
