Melkonyan is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: 25/17 . Johnny Brit is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

With a record of 15 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Eduard Melkonyan!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Konstantin Menshow and Vladimir Khabensky.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Melkonyan closes the distance and lands a one-two.

It looks like Johnny Brit has been cut.
Brit lands a lovely overhand right.
Brit throws a looping overhand right but Melkonyan ducks down to avoid it.

Brit tries to keep at a distance but Melkonyan has taken the fight into the clinch.
Melkonyan throws a head punch that misses.
Brit blocking some punches.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Melkonyan.
Melkonyan lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Brit backwards.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Melkonyan misses with a body punch.

Brit escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Brit throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Melkonyan.

Melkonyan fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Brit on the side of the head.
Melkonyan closes the distance and clinches up with Brit, looking for a takedown. Melkonyan pushes Brit against the cage but Brit circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Melkonyan shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Brit defends it nicely.
Brit lands a nice looking body shot.

Brit thows a body shot but no joy.
Melkonyan jabs Brit right on the nose. Brit blinks but takes it well.

Johnny Brit's cut is getting worse.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Johnny Brit is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Melkonyan lands with a straight right. Brit didn't see that one coming.

Melkonyan closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Brit avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Melkonyan.
Brit is trying to buck Melkonyan off.

Melkonyan tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Melkonyan is trying to move to mount but Brit reverses beautifully and ends up in Melkonyan's guard.

Brit got a little sloppy there for a moment and Melkonyan has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Brit has managed to get both his arms back between Melkonyan's legs - danger averted.
Brit throws a big right hand that misses.
Brit has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Melkonyan has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Brit can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Melkonyan has a closed guard, preventing Brit from standing up.

Brit missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Brit lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Brit won't allow Melkonyan to sweep him here.
Brit throws an elbow that misses. Melkonyan uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Brit's guard. Nice move by Melkonyan!
Melkonyan wants to control from the top but Brit keeps moving.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

That's time! Brit's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Brit swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Brit ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Melkonyan moves away.
Melkonyan misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Melkonyan throws a hook but Brit blocks it.
Brit ducks down into range and throws a picture perfect right hook that connects with Melkonyan's jaw. Melkonyan's eyes stare off into space as he falls to the mat, out cold! Brit does the decent thing and steps back, rather than landing any shots to his unconscious opponent.
