The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tenorio throws a right hand that Alvez ducks under and follows up with a left that Alvez also avoids with ease.
Tenorio tries for a takedown but Alvez sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Tenorio pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Alvez back to the cage. Tenorio follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Tenorio tries to clinch there but Alvez circles away.
Tenorio throws a right and a left that Alvez avoids nicely.
Tenorio lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
A head kick misses from Alvez.
Gordinho Tenorio seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Alvez tries a head kick but it misses.

Tenorio has managed to clinch.
Tenorio is trying to break the clinch but Alvez is controlling him.
Tenorio is trying to break free.
Tenorio is trying to push Alvez away but Alvez has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Tenorio wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Alvez manages to break the clinch.
Alvez tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Alvez. Tenorio shrugs it off though.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Tenorio shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Alvez as he jumps to the side.
Tenorio throws a right hand that Alvez ducks under and follows up with a left that Alvez also avoids with ease.
Tenorio looks gassed!

Alvez keeps Tenorio at a distance using the push kick.

Alvez lands a big head kick that sends Tenorio tumbling to the mat! Alvez takes a step backwards and waves Tenorio back to his feet - he wants the finish!

It looks like Gordinho Tenorio has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
A head kick by Alvez - that's a beauty! Tenorio is out but he's somehow still standing... he's going... going... gone. Like a drunk walking down the middle of the road, the inevitable face plant follows and the delayed knockout arrives. Even Alvez can't help but laugh at the bizarre end to this one!
