The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Ivan Kurochkin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jays closes the distance and clinches.
Jays displaying some good clinch control by pressing Smirnov up against the cage.

Smirnov prevents Jays from breaking the clinch.
The referee is keeping an eye on Jays - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Jays wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Smirnov has him pressed against the cage.

Smirnov works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

Smirnov is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Jays looks calm but he's in trouble here. Smirnov gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Jays is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Smirnov lets go of the hold and Jays can pop his arm back in it's socket.
