PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Caeas Liege (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and God Zilla (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Liege might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Will T. Bear: For a Few Dollars . The crowd seem to be enjoying Zilla's choice of entrance music: Your arms feel like home.. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Zilla gets caught napping as Liege dives in and scores a takedown. Zilla manages to retain guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Liege chips away with some ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Zilla is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Liege shoots in looking for a takedown. Zilla tries to sprawl out of it but Liege keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Zilla manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
God Zilla seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Liege closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Zilla did well to prevent Liege getting side control.

Liege takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Liege looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Zilla with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Liege decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Zilla misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Zilla fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Liege checks it well.

Liege jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Zilla walks away with a smile on his face. Liege gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Zilla will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Liege shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
