The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pendragon avoids a punch combination nicely.

Pendragon manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Mercier on his heels. He'll look to pass Mercier's guard now, I'm sure.

Mercier had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Pendragon defends it easily.

Pendragon decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Mercier, up you get!

Pendragon drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Mercier manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Pendragon has Mercier in his guard.

Pendragon isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Mercier stacks Pendragon on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Mercier!
