The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pais connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Messi momentarily.
Pais displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Messi.
The fighters circling - Pais throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Pais lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.

It looks like Mago Messi has been cut.

Pais tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Messi has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.

Pais just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.

Pais is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Messi is defending well though. Pais let's go of the attempt for now.

That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Pais! Submission of the night perhaps?
