Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Brad Uhler!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Uhler as Melo shoots in.
Melo fails with the takedown.
Uhler misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Uhler moves into the clinch.

Uhler breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Uhler tries to close the distance and clinch but Melo swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Melo shoots in looking for a takedown but Uhler manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Melo's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Brad Uhler has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of AJ Melo.
Uhler takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Uhler scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Uhler fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Melo avoids it really well and circles away.

Uhler throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Melo fails to land with a series of punches.
Melo tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Uhler paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Brad Uhler seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Uhler has Melo up against the ropes in a clinch.
Uhler has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Melo after a bit of a struggle.

Melo lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Melo stops a takedown attempt from Uhler.
Melo is trying to push Uhler away but Uhler has him pressed against the ropes, so he's going nowhere.
Melo wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Uhler has him pressed against the ropes.

Uhler moves in looking to clinch but Melo pushes him off.

Uhler is looking for a takedown up against the ropes. Melo gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Melo lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

Melo decides to pull guard.
Melo wants to stand and escape but Uhler is having none of it.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Uhler keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Melo's head.
Uhler is looking to work some ground and pound but Melo has wrist control.
Uhler wants to control from the top but Melo keeps moving.
Uhler is stalling in the full guard.
Uhler connects with a couple of short punches.
Melo preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Uhler has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Uhler decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Melo, up you get!

Melo tries to keep at a distance but Uhler has taken the fight into the clinch.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Uhler breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Uhler goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Uhler avoids the head kick by Melo.
Melo shoots in but Uhler avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Uhler closes the distance and clinches.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Uhler wants a takedown.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Melo.
Uhler is trying to drag Melo to the mat but Melo just about manages to keep his footing. He used the ropes to his advantage there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Uhler throws a nice looking combination but Melo bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Melo moves in looking to clinch but Uhler pushes him off.

and Uhler counters with a left and a right that stings Melo.

Uhler drops Melo with a big left hand and mounts him. Melo is in big trouble!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Uhler lands a heavy shot. That's hurt Melo! Uhler sees the opportunity and turns up the heat - strike after strike land to the defenseless Melo and the ref dives in to save him! This one is all over!
