PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Randy Marsh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and DeAndre Louis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marsh has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Randy Marsh!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, DeAndre Louis!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Louis gets a clinch.
Louis stalling in the clinch.
Marsh with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Louis gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Louis slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

DeAndre Louis has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Louis fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Marsh, pushing him back against the cage.

Louis lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Louis with the ground and pound but Marsh uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Louis advances to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Louis takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Louis prevents Marsh from standing back up.
Louis controlling the pace.
Louis works his foot free and advances to mount.

Louis is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Marsh has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Louis lands with some strikes.

Louis is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Marsh to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Marsh shrugs it off.

Marsh leaves Louis with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Louis gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Louis ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Louis no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Louis pulls Marsh in to control the position.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Louis. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up. DeAndre Louis was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Marsh tries to close the distance and clinch up but Louis swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Louis tries for a takedown but Marsh manages to get underhooks.
Louis jumps guard but Marsh turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Randy Marsh has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of DeAndre Louis.
Marsh throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Marsh connects with a knee to the head.


It looks like DeAndre Louis has been cut.

Louis jumps guard but Marsh turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Louis has Marsh pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Louis pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Marsh tumbling to the mat - Louis dives into Marsh's guard.

Marsh will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Louis stands and steps away. Marsh gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Louis bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Louis decides to stand back up. Louis steps back and let's Marsh get back to his feet.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. DeAndre Louis wasn't active enough on the ground.

Louis shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Marsh manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Louis accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Louis seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. DeAndre Louis wasn't active enough on the ground.

Louis looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Louis in particular looking to stall.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Louis scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

DeAndre Louis showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Louis in particular looking to stall.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Louis lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Louis is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Marsh defends it well.
Louis thows a huge punch but Marsh dodges it nicely.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Louis in particular looking to stall.
Louis throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Louis is figuring out what he wants to do next.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. DeAndre Louis wasn't active enough on the ground.
Marsh stuffs the takedown.
Louis tries to land a front kick but Marsh steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Louis throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Louis closes the distance and clinches.
Louis blocks an elbow strike from Marsh.
Marsh stops a takedown attempt from Louis.

Louis gets control of Marsh's arms and successfully pulls guard. Louis will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Well Louis has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
