Blair has chosen Bullet by Creed as his entrance music. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Hank Blair!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Ian Loll and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blair looks to land a left hand but Gibson moved out of range nicely.
Gibson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Blair pinned against the cage. Blair gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Gibson shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Blair napping and manages to drive through into side control!
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Blair is not in a great position here, taking some shots.


It looks like Hank Blair has been cut.
Gibson controls the position.
Gibson looking to control but instead Blair has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.
Gibson winds up and cracks Blair with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Blair tries to get to full guard but Gibson has control of the leg.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gibson working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Gibson looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Gibson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Scott Gibson just wasn't active enough.
Blair stuffs the takedown attempt from Gibson. Gibson gets slowly back to his feet.
Gibson throws a combination. Blair tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Hank Blair is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Nice takedown defense from Blair. No joy for Gibson on that attempt.

Gibson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Blair avoids it really well and circles away.

Gibson goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Blair turns into him and now he's in Gibson's guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Gibson pulls Blair in close to prevent any damage.

Blair is sitting in close to Gibson's body. Gibson has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Blair is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Blair is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Gibson.

Scott Gibson really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Global Nutritional ACME (Q157) 90% ROR on Laundry logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
