PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Benson The Scorpion (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kenji Yakubiskaya (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Benson The Scorpion!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kenji Yakubiskaya!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Bruno Hogan and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yakubiskaya tries for a takedown but The Scorpion sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

The Scorpion forces Yakubiskaya back against the cage and clinches.
The Scorpion is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Yakubiskaya gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Yakubiskaya has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but The Scorpion regains guard immediately.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The Scorpion has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Yakubiskaya can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The Scorpion working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Yakubiskaya doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Yakubiskaya manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The Scorpion escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Yakubiskaya gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
