Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Waldek Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dennis Miedas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Waldek Silva has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Waldek Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dennis Miedas!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Summer Carpenter and Damien Edna.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva shoots in but Miedas avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Dennis Miedas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Miedas throws a sloppy head kick and Silva moves out of range easily.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Silva.
A nice leg kick lands there from Miedas.

Silva closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Silva lands in his opponent's guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Silva wants to control from the top but Miedas keeps moving.
Silva is standing up over Miedas. Miedas looks to escape but Silva dives into side control.
Miedas pushes Silva away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Silva gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Silva tries for a kimura but Miedas is defending well.

Silva is working to tighten is grip on Miedas's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Miedas has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Silva is really squeezing tight and eventually Miedas passes out! Silva breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
