PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nafes Alhangum (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Timur Rod (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Nafes Alhangum!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Timur Rod!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Arvi Lind and Tarja Halkonen.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some wild striking there from Alhangum.
A nice leg kick lands there from Alhangum.
No luck for Rod with that takedown attempt.
Alhangum throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Rod.
Rod tries to clinch up
and Alhangum counters with a low kick, right behind Rod 's knee.
Alhangum slaps away a takedown attempt from Rod, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Alhangum circles away from the clinch attempt.
Rod shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Alhangum but Alhangum pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Nafes Alhangum has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Timur Rod.
A slapping leg kick lands for Alhangum.
Rod looks gassed!

That's one minute gone in the round.
An inside leg kick lands from Alhangum.
Alhangum fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Rod has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Alhangum finds it's way round the side to connect with Rod's head.
Rod needs to keep his hands up - Alhangum had a free shot at his head there.
Rod closes the distance but Alhangum moves to the side
and Alhangum counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

It looks like Timur Rod has been cut.
Alhangum lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Oooooh!!! Alhangum has knocked Rod down with a huge combo! Alhangum steps away and waves a wobbly Rod back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Rod is rocked!
Alhangum lands a leg kick that knocks Rod off balance momentarily.
Rod is still on wobbly legs! Can Alhangum finish him?

Alhangum cracks Rod with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Rod looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Alhangum finish him?
Rod gets tagged by a hook that puts him to sleep! Alhangum points and yells something to his unconcious foe before strutting off. Rod wakes up just in time to hear Alhangum thank his coaches in the post fight interview.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Nafes Alhangum!
Nafes Alhangum decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
