The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
An inside leg kick lands from von Goethe.
von Goethe lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Gronholm fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

It looks like Marcus Gronholm has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Gronholm throws a nice looking combination but von Goethe bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
von Goethe fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Gronholm manages to avoid it.

von Goethe wants to clinch up but Gronholm keeps it at a distance.
von Goethe has Gronholm up against the cage in a clinch.

Gronholm is trying to force a seperation but von Goethe has the dominant position.
von Goethe lands a good knee to the midsection. Gronholm won't want to take too many of those.

Gronholm is trying to push von Goethe away but von Goethe has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Gronholm breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Gronholm seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. von Goethe shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Gronholm is backing up but von Goethe catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Gronholm covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! von Goethe Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!
