Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Hunter Akbar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Akira Shinsato (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shinsato comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Yoshi Story kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Akira Shinsato is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hunter Akbar!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Akira Shinsato!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Yuuki Gou and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Akbar will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Akbar shoots in but Shinsato avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Akbar attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.

Akbar pushes Shinsato up against the cage in a clinch.
Shinsato lands on the inside with an uppercut.

Shinsato has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Akbar is proving hard to escape from.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Shinsato stands up from Akbar's guard - Shinsato perhaps looking for a knockout.

Shinsato closes the distance and pushes Akbar back into the cage.
Shinsato lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Akbar.

Akbar is trying to pull guard but Shinsato turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Shinsato misses with a hook from the clinch.

Akbar pulls Shinsato into guard.
Shinsato would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Akbar bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Shinsato's guard.

Shinsato is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Akbar shoots in for a takedown but Shinsato shows good takedown defense.

Shinsato clinches up with Akbar and pushes him back against the cage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Shinsato tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Akbar avoids it.

Akbar prevents a body shot from Shinsato.
Shinsato is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Akbar is defending well for now.

Akbar gets control of Shinsato's arms and successfully pulls guard. Akbar will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Shinsato is looking to stand up but Akbar won't let him.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Akbar rushes Shinsato and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
With the fighters up against the cage, Shinsato throws an elbow but misses.

Shinsato throws a punch but it's blocked by Akbar.
Akbar on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Shinsato throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Akbars head.
Shinsato lands with a light punch inside.

Akbar tries to score a body lock takedown but Shinsato shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Akbar dodges an elbow strike from Shinsato.
Shinsato creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Akbar's defenses.


It looks like Hunter Akbar has been cut.
Shinsato prevents the takedown attempt.
Nice body punch from Shinsato - that landed with a thud.
Shinsato lands a left hand that snaps the head of Akbar backwards.

Akbar has Shinsato pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Akbar pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Shinsato tumbling to the mat - Akbar dives into Shinsato's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Shinsato is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Akbar slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Shinsato is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Akbar asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Hunter Akbar overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Akbar laying and praying for a moment but Shinsato takes advantage and regains half guard.

Akbar is looking to take a break and control but Shinsato is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Akbar has Shinsato pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Shinsato manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Shinsato lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Akbar gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

That was a close second round but I would say that Hunter Akbar will probably get the nod.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Akbar shoots in looking for a takedown. Shinsato tries to sprawl out of it but Akbar keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Shinsato manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Akbar has closed the distance and engaged Shinsato in a clinch.

Shinsato is defending well against a takedown attempt.

Akbar turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Shinsato regains half guard, as Akbar was trying to land strikes.
Shinsato is in trouble now - Akbar has advanced to mount!

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Akbar cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Shinsato is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Akbar looking to control but Shinsato is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Akbar will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Akbar throwing strikes here but Shinsato is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

Shinsato is squirming around, avoiding Akbar's attempts to control the action.
Shinsato's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Akbar pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Akbar connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Shinsato is still in real trouble! Can Akbar finish him?
Akbar cracks Shinsato with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:37 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Hunter Akbar!
