Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Maiquel Jose (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Christer Fugelsang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jose comes to the cage accompanied by Skabo-Vuk Vuku Nikad Covek. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Maiquel Jose!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Christer Fugelsang!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Wagner Zegers and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jose shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Fugelsang's guard.
Jose trying to control but Fugelsang is working from the bottom.
Fugelsang is trying to control the position but Jose postures up.
Jose wants to control from the top but Fugelsang keeps moving.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Christer Fugelsang hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
No joy there for Fugelsang, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Jose has Fugelsang pressed against the cage, preventing Fugelsang from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Jose has picked Fugelsang up - he's going for a ride! Jose dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Jose is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Fugelsang defends it well.

Jose is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Fugelsang to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Fugelsang shrugs it off.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jose is pressing down on Fugelsang's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Jose is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Jose is keen to just control but Fugelsang is a slippery customer.

Jose has control of Fugelsang's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Fugelsang regains control of the situation pretty easily.
