Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Esten Flores (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brendan Matthews (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brendan Matthews is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brendan Matthews!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Daniel Franklin and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matthews feints a jab promting Flores to slip. Matthews then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Flores slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Flores tries to clinch up
and Matthews counters with a head kick. That will keep Flores thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Matthews throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

Matthews thows a body shot but no joy.
Flores tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Matthews throws a head kick but Flores moves out of range.

Flores moves to clinch but Matthews breaks away

and Matthews counters with a nice double leg into side control. Flores won't be happy with that.

Matthews seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Flores does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Flores is fighting off a takedown attempt but Matthews is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Flores to the mat. Flores regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Matthews fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Flores on the side of the head.

Matthews paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

Matthews misses with a jab, cross combination.
Flores misses with the body kick
and Matthews counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Matthews throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Matthews throws a head kick that misses.
Flores lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Matthews throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Flores is looking to land body kicks.
Flores fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Well Matthews has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
