These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gao avoids a punch combination nicely.
Gao feints a jab promting LeVoux to slip. Gao then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. LeVoux slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
LeVoux takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
LeVoux tries to bum rush Gao with a series of wild strikes but Gao uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
LeVoux misses with a double jab
and Gao counters with a body kick that stops LeVoux in his tracks momentarily.
Gao checks the leg kick.
LeVoux throws a series of punches but Gao avoids them all with ease.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Gao.

Gao swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and LeVoux counters with a straight right hand.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Gao counters with a head kick that drops LeVoux to the mat! LeVoux scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!

LeVoux gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Gao gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!
