Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kenichi Atoshi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ushio Obake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Atoshi comes to the cage accompanied by Samourai. Ushio Obake has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Kenichi Atoshi's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kenichi Atoshi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ushio Obake!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Taro Takaoka and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Atoshi doesn't manage to clinch there - Obake circles away.
Obake looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Atoshi wants to clinch up but Obake keeps it at a distance.
Atoshi shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Obake missing with a left hand there. Atoshi was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Obake misses with a low kick.
Obake throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Atoshi cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Atoshi avoids the body shot from Obake.
Atoshi fails with the takedown.

Atoshi gets the takedown into side control.
Atoshi looks up at the clock and then as Obake takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Atoshi smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Atoshi decides to stand up, so the ref orders Obake to his feet.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Atoshi throws a head kick that misses.
Obake throws a series of punches but Atoshi moves out of range.
Atoshi has a takedown stuffed.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kenichi Atoshi. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Atoshi closes the distance and clinches up with Obake, looking for a takedown. Atoshi pushes Obake against the cage but Obake circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Obake misses with a right hand
and Atoshi counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Obake is lucky that one didn't land flush.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Obake enables Atoshi to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Obake manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Obake preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Atoshi wants to pass the guard but Obake is keeping the position.

Atoshi drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Atoshi jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Atoshi trying to control the position from guard on top but Obake is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Atoshi throwing strikes but missing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Obake can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Atoshi controls the pace.
Obake has a closed guard, preventing Atoshi from standing up.
Atoshi trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Kenichi Atoshi has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Atoshi closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Atoshi is looking to control Obake's arms but Obake gets an underhook and turns him. Now Atoshi has his back to the cage.
Atoshi lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Obake backwards.
Obake can't break the clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Obake is trying to force a seperation but Atoshi has the dominant position.
Atoshi has had enough of the clinch but Obake keeps him there for the moment.
Obake can't break the clinch.
Atoshi is stalling here.
A left hand lands to the body for Atoshi.
Atoshi is looking for a takedown.
Obake wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Obake is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Atoshi lands a right hand.
Atoshi lands a nice knee to the body.
Atoshi is trying to pull guard but Obake has him pressed against the cage.
Obake is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Atoshi dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Obake looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Atoshi breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Ushio Obake seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Obake throws a right and a left that both miss.
Atoshi shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Obake sprawls well. Obake wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Atoshi gets slowly back to his feet.
Atoshi swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Obake.
Atoshi fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Obake has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Atoshi fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Obake to the ground. Atoshi is now in Obake's guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Atoshi stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Obake swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Atoshi throwing strikes from guard but Obake blocks nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kenichi Atoshi dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!



Obake tries to keep at a distance but Atoshi has taken the fight into the clinch.
Obake wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Atoshi has him pressed against the cage.

Atoshi works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Atoshi trying to control but Obake is working from the bottom.
Atoshi wanted to stand there but Obake had control of the position.
Obake wants to stand and escape but Atoshi is having none of it.
Obake is breathing heavily.

Atoshi is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Obake is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Obake has escaped and now he's on top!

Obake is posturing up here but Atoshi has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Obake tries to roll out but it's too tight and Obake has to tap! Slick submission there by Atoshi!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Kenichi Atoshi!
Our winner, Kenichi Atoshi, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
