Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Per Saukko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brutu Kalio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kalio shoots for a takedown but Saukko saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Saukko looks for a takedown but Kalio sprawls well.

Kalio drives through with a takedown into Saukko's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Saukko fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Kalio looking to hit a scissor sweep but Saukko is one step ahead there.
Saukko will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Saukko wants to control from the top but Kalio keeps moving.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Kalio holds on and takes a little breather.

Kalio really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Saukko. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Saukko wants to pass the guard but Kalio is keeping the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Per Saukko just wasn't active enough.
Kalio moves in looking to clinch but Saukko pushes him off.
Kalio shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Saukko pinned against the cage. Saukko gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Kalio rushes Saukko and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Per Saukko has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brutu Kalio.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Saukko creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Saukko breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Saukko tries to score a power double leg takedown but Kalio sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Saukko somewhat.
Kalio tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Saukko was well out of range. Poor timing from Kalio.

Saukko fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Kalio is out of range.
Saukko cracks Kalio with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

It looks like Brutu Kalio has been cut.
Kalio shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Saukko sprawls well. Saukko wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Kalio gets slowly back to his feet.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

No luck for Saukko with that takedown attempt.
Horrible takedown by Saukko or perhaps it was just good defense by Kalio which made him look bad.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Kalio's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Kalio fails with the takedown.
Kalio looks to throw the jab but Saukko is out of range.
Saukko throws a good cross that connects.
Brutu Kalio seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kalio throws the kick towards the body but Saukko avoids it.

Saukko shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Saukko was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kalio can do anything to dispel that myth.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Per Saukko overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Brutu Kalio's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Brutu Kalio's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
