The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dfo misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Cottrell fails with a takedown attempt.
Some wild striking there from Cottrell.
Dfo stuffs the takedown attempt from Cottrell. Cottrell gets slowly back to his feet.
Dfo pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Dfo dives in and grabs Cottrell's left leg, looking for a takedown. Cottrell pushes down on Dfo's head and hops out.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Dfo has eaten all the pies!
Nice sprawl there from Cottrell as Dfo shoots in.
Jimmy Cottrell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cris Dfo.
Dfo tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Dfo shoots in but no luck this time.
Dfo shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Cottrell defends it nicely.
Dfo tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Cottrell swivels and escapes.

Cottrell feints and as Dfo raises his hands in defense, Cottrell changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Cottrell passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Dfo looks gassed!
Cottrell advances to full mount.
Cottrell lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Cottrell has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Dfo's face.

It looks like Cris Dfo has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Cottrell is in the full mount, landing strikes.

The cut above Cris Dfo's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Cris Dfo's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
