PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Abel Joseph (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dragon Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dragon Gracie told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Abel Joseph!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dragon Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Johanna Lukiainen and Marco Blurström.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Joseph lands with a hook. Gracie tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Gracie displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Joseph throws out the jab.
Joseph throws a jab but it's blocked by Gracie.
Gracie shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Gracie moves away from the strike by Joseph.
Joseph throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Joseph connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Gracie takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Joseph lands a jab to the nose.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Gracie ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Joseph dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Gracie ducks under a wild hook from Joseph.
Gracie shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Joseph as he jumps to the side.
A slow jab from Joseph misses its intended target.
Joseph misses with an uppercut.
Joseph connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Gracie doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Joseph counters with a straight right hand.
Abel Joseph has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dragon Gracie.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Gracie uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Joseph.
Joseph bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

Gracie is rocked!
Joseph drops Gracie with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Gracie! Joseph dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
